A New, Greener, Year!

2023 has come to and end, and what a year it has been!

This is the perfect opportunity for some New Year’s resolutions. Sustainability is something Kindred Group is consistently striving towards, within gambling and being environmentally friendly (see more here). Last year we began looking at ways in which we can be more carbon neutral within our team, something we want to continue in 2024.

For Christmas, instead of shipping packages across the world and adding to carbon emissions, we put the money towards planting native trees in Madagascar, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Kenya and Uganda on behalf of our affiliates and business partners. Additionally, we chose to send our top affiliate partners virtual Christmas cards in order to save paper.

We also have the London Affiliates Conference coming up in February which one of our biggest events of the year, and is a fantastic opportunity to meet face to face with our affiliates. This year, we have chosen Expose Designs to work with us on our stand, as in addition to their fantastic designs, they also share the same goal of being more green. Below are a few words about their own mission:

At Expose Designs we are dedicated to continuously reducing our carbon footprint, with a longer-term aim to become carbon natural. When ensuring sustainability, we must take an integrated approach and look at all aspects of the business, from finance and marketing to logistics and customer service.

We are currently carrying out the following practices to improve our carbon footprint:

  1. Ensuring all company cars are electric and practising car sharing for all exhibition transport.
  2. Reusing and repurposing as many stand components as possible, as well as recycling materials which are unable to be reused.
  3. Improving general office suitability by carrying out the following: going paperless where possible, implementing dedicated recycling bins, using energy efficient computers, and operating a timed schedule on all lighting to ensure they are switched off when not in use.
  4. Educating ourselves by undertaking training in sustainability – both social and environmental

As well as carrying out the above, Expose Designs additionally evaluate these practices on a bi-monthly basis. During which, we measure everything such as electricity usage and fuel consumption. This ensures we know our current figures and sets a numerical mark for improvement.”

We look forward to our partnership with them going forward and for everything 2024 has to offer!
