With Cheltenham Festival taking place next week, we thought you would like to know some interesting facts about the event.
The Cheltenham Festival is a horse race meeting firmly established as one of THE sporting events of the entire year in the UK, if not the world.
This season, the 2017 Cheltenham Festival runs from Tuesday 14th March to Friday 17th March and consists of 28 races varying in distances from 2 miles ½ furlong (3,319 metres) to 4 miles (6,437m), over three different tracks on the same racecourse.
Kindred sponsor one of the most prestigious races of the entire week, the Stan James Champion hurdle (on the Tuesday) – one of just four Championship races at the festival and it’s a race we have sponsored since 2011.
The early signs are that this year the UK betting industry will see more money wagered on those races than ever before with figures of between £350 and £500 million being brandished around by industry experts.
