It’s All Over!

The EURO final took place in the Olympiastadion in Berlin with a live audience of 74,475 there to chant, cheer and sing for their favorites! All over Europe spectators were at the edge of their seats with a huge estimated cumulative audience of 5.2 billion people world-wide. The stakes were huge!

England, despite a slow start, made it to the finals for a second time in a row, having come second to Italy in 2020 due to penalties. A win against Switzerland sent them into battle against a strong-performing Spanish team. After consistent wins throughout the tournament in all 6 games up to the final, Spain were ready for one last display of skill and teamwork to take them to the top.

The first half of the game was slow, with a lot of half-chances on both sides. However, there was a different energy when the players returned in the 2nd half. By the 73rd minute, Spain and England were neck and neck with a goal from both Williams and Palmer. A cross from Cucurella and a well-timed touch from Oyarzabal and Spain was up 2-1. England tried one lash push with a header battle minutes before the end of the game, but ultimately Spain took the win as the Champions of 2024!

After being named “one of the most dangerous players on the field”, Nico Williams was names Vivo Player of the Match. Spain have also now become the most successful team in the history of EURO after winning the competition 4 times.
