Over the weekend, The latest edition of the Unibet Open took place at the Casino Copenhagen!
The event was a great success and featured a stunning comeback from eventual champion, Kaarel Lepik who scooped the 2017 trophy and DKK 562,300 prize.
The 38-year-old Estonian beat a tough field of 404 players including former Unibet Open champions, an Irish Open champion and Unibet ambassadors. Down to only eight big blinds against his opponent’s 93, Lepik was cheered on by a boisterous rail to come back from the dead and take down the trophy.
Arriving in a van on Day 1a with six friends from his poker club in Estonia, Lepik won his seat in a live satellite in the Copenhagen Casino. The 25-hour journey was worth it as he remained near the top of the chip leader board throughout the tournament.
